Talkin' Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre Blues - Bob Dylan

This song is the first of many to have its origin in a story taken from a newspaper. This was from the true story of a picnic excursion boat, the Hudson Belle that was booked for a fathers day trip to upstate New York. Hundreds of counterfeit tickets were sold and when the boat docked two hours late there was a mad scramble to get on board,a dozen or so people sustained injuries and the boat never sailed to Bear mountain. Noel Stookey (Paul,of Peter Paul and Mary) showed it ti Dylan and the next day he showed with a nine verse satire.
