Everybody is looking for signs, something that will tell them something they don't know, or somewhere they want to go. I am sitting in a Starbucks off 57/70 on my way to Mt. Vernon IL and all around me are familiar signs that you will see at many exits off a major highway. Starbucks, KFC, Subway, Steak & Shake, Wendy's, Cracker Barrel, McDonald's, Wall Mart's, and on and on they go, I could list many more just from my vantage point in Starbucks. these signs tell you a message if your looking for them. Jesus told the Pharisees that they could look at the sky and tell what the weather would be the next day but couldn't read the significance of the sign sitting right in front of them. Most people are like the Pharisee's they see all kinds of signs but they don't mean anything, they're not pointing anywhere and they will not tell you anything worthwhile. People living life without a clue of what's really happening around them, they can't read the signs of the times and they have missed all the important signs that God put on earth to give them a clue that there is a God and He is in charge and He is working out his purposes in the earth.
The cross is a big sign that God place at the center of history, have you seen it? On that cross he placed his son who is the sacrifice for sin and the only way to get back to God, the only direction you need to find God. This was not done in secret and yet so many people completely miss it. As Dylan said "There's a man on a cross and he's been crucified for you, believe in his power that's about all you have to do, when you gonna wake up and strengthen the things that remain."
If you want to get where you're going you have to follow the signs, if you want to get to heaven you have to follow THE sign.
