Quit Making Excuses For What You Do

“Those speak foolishly who ascribe their anger or their impatience to such as offend them or to tribulation. Tribulation does not make people impatient, but proves that they are impatient. So everyone may learn from tribulation how his heart is constituted.”
Martin Luther

There are a lot of angry and offended people who like to blame others for their sin. I agree with Luther that if you are offended it was not what someone else said or did that offended you it just proved that you have an offended heart. The words "you make me so angry" are the weak defense of an angry person who refuses to acknowledge their sin. Circumstances and people don't make you something they only expose what you really are, they only reveal your heart.
