Mike Deasy played in Eddie Cochran's backing band, The Kelly Four, he later accompanied Duane Eddy, Ritchie Valens, The Coasters, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, The Monkees, The Byrds, The Association, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Frank Zappa and Kenny Rogers among others. He was in the famous Wrecking Crew.

Mike is a personal friend of mine. heres the real story of what happened when he went to record Charles Manson. Arecord label sent Mike with some recording equipment to record some of Manson's songs. After a day of recording, they built a bonfire. Manson was passing out LSD to everyone, he and Mike took quite a bit. Later that night Manson started going crazy and left the group only to come back later with an axe. He started going after Mike and was chasing him around trying to cut Mike with the axe. If you saw the movie Once Upon A time in Hollywood, you saw Spaun's ranch where part of the movie was filmed. Manson contuined to chase Mike and try to hurt him. Mike ran into the hills still being chased by Manson, he found a cave where Mike hid for two days. He finally was able to leave the ranch, His life was spared. That is a little known story about Charles Manson.
