Salvation
is not something we deserve or merit or earn. The whole point of Paul’s
teaching on salvation is that the only thing we deserved is punishment for our
sins and hell. “Grace only has meaning when men are seen as fallen, unworthy or
salvation and liable to eternal wrath” (Sam Storms).
