Dion - "I Got Nothin'" featuring Van Morrison & Joe Louis Walker - Official Music Video
“Dion knows how to sing, and he knows just the right way to craft these songs, these blues songs. He’s got some friends here to help him out, some true luminaries. But in the end, it’s Dion by himself alone, and that masterful voice of his that will keep you returning to share these Blues songs with him.” - Excerpt from Bob Dylan’s liner notes for Blues With Friends

Lucky Peterson "Coronavirus Blues" (March 2020) Lucky Peterson, sings in his hotel in Paris after his European tour was cancelled
Man knows not his time. When Lucky recorded this in his hotel room in Paris France I'm sure he was thinking about getting back home. No one knows when they are going to die, but its an appointment we must all keep. Life on earth is short, its like a vapor here for a little while and then gone.
Legendary American Bluesman Lucky Peterson, master of the blues guitar and the Hammond B3, has died at the age of 55
I met Lucky Peterson when he was 5 years old in 1969. These pictures are from my time in The Garfield Blues Band. We played at the Governors Inn, a bar owned by Lucky's father James Peterson. Not long after this I moved to Buffalo NY to play bass for Little Lucky. We opened for James Brown at War Memorial Stadium that fall. I went with Lucky and his father to NYC to meet Willie Dixon and spent a week with and a couple of guitar players from Chicago. We recorded at Columbia studios and there was talk of Lucky appearing on The Ed Sullivan show, which actually happened later. That's me playing bass in the bottom picture.

Jelly Roll · Screamin' John and TD Lind
Produced by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Glyn Johns, Screamin’ John and TD Lind return for their second release on Down In The Alley Records. Their debut release in 2017, Gimme More Time, reunited members of the late 90’s rock band Edenstreet (Hawkins, Arlon, Crane, and Culligan plus the addition of Joel Pinkerton on harp) and it was obvious the blues had taken hold.
Mr.Little Big Man continues on the blues path and improves on the debut with Johns producing. The album consists of five originals written by Lind and some well-chosen covers with obscure songs by B. B. King (The Letter) and Jimmy Reed (Shame, Shame, Shame) and others by Taj Mahal (Jelly Roll), Seth Walker & Jarod Dickenson (Way Past Midnight) and a beautiful rendition of Leadbelly’s “Goodnight Irene”.
Rott'n Dan and Lightnin' Willy - Delia
Rott'n Dan and Lightnin' Willy performing Delia, a song originally written by Blind Willie McTell. Recorded live on air during Calling All Blues on CJSR 88.5 FM in Edmonton, AB Canada on Oct 31, 2018. Rott'n Dan and the Lightnin' Willy are an acoustic duo focusing on Pre War, Piedmont and Country Blues. In doing so they are paying homage to the greats such as Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Robert Johnson, Blind Boy Fuller and Mississippi John Hurt, to name a few. For all those with a hankering for some old timey roots music that'll take you to the front porch and caress you like a warm southern breeze, this is for you!
