Have you ever seen this bumper sticker, the top line only, on a car or building? Its obvious that whoever made this never thought out the implications of their new age design. since the sign ends with a question mark the easy answer is NO! Any thinking person would easily be able to see that this is a stupid question. So if you're driving and see this sign on a car you better watch out for that driver. if there not bright enough to know the answer and dumb enough to put this on their car, its a good bet they are a bad driver.
I notice these bumperstickers every day and agree that they are stupid. Perhaps I should give those who have the credit for some sort of attempt at peacemaking. Blessed are the peacemakers, after all.
ReplyDeleteBut, in addition to objections like yours, I find that "coexistence" falls well short of what Christ calls us to do: love our neighbors as ourselves. Coexisting sets the bar pretty low and, frankly, we already manage to coexist.
Toss out coexist and replace it with the Golden Rule. If even 1 in 10 people lived by the Golden Rule, imagine how great life might be here on earth.
