Today is the 50th anniversary of Motown. now that might not mean much to you, but being born and raised in Detroit its a big deal to me. I was born in 1950 and Motown was born in 1959, so for all those who were influenced in their teenage years by Motown music you know what I talking about. I'm going to be posting some of Motown's greatest hits and some of my personal favorites, starting with I Heard It Through The Grapevine by Marvin Gaye. This song was #1 in 1968 the year I graduated from high school.This is the sound of the Motor City.
